What the original game does
Pragmatic Play’s official Gates of Olympus description says matching symbols pay anywhere across six tumbling reels. A qualifying group starts at eight matching symbols. They do not need to follow a conventional line across adjacent reels. A tumble replaces winning symbols, allowing the round to continue if another qualifying win forms.
The provider describes multiplier symbols worth up to 500 times and a feature triggered by four or more scatters, awarding 15 free spins. During that feature, qualifying multipliers accumulate into a running total used on the relevant wins. A visible multiplier is not itself a cash payment: the rules determine when and to what it applies.
Read the numbers in the right units
A multiplier and a cash amount are different. If a hypothetical result awards 100 times a 20p total stake, that is £20, not £100. Check whether the displayed figure refers to total stake, a qualifying win or another base amount. The game information panel should resolve this before play.
Likewise, a maximum multiplier, a maximum round win and the total returned by a feature are separate figures. A promotional image showing a large number does not tell you how often that result occurs. This page does not assign a maximum-win figure or an exact RTP to a casino configuration that has not been inspected.
RTP does not promise a return on a deposit
Return to player describes the game’s theoretical return over extensive play. It does not promise that a particular balance will last, that a bonus will trigger within a set number of spins or that a session will end near that percentage. The Gambling Commission’s explanation of RTP makes the distinction between a long-run average and an individual session clear.
For illustration, 96% RTP corresponds to a theoretical 4% house edge under the model’s assumptions. On £100 of total stakes, that is a £4 average mathematical loss across the model, not a forecast that you will lose exactly £4. Total stakes include money wagered again, so they can exceed the original deposit.
A small stake does not make a bonus due
Reducing a stake reduces the money at risk per paid round. It does not guarantee enough spins to trigger a feature or turn a losing game into an income source. There is no “safe” percentage of a balance that makes the bonus inevitable. Stop at a pre-set spending boundary rather than topping up to reach an imagined cycle.
For GB-regulated random games, the random-outcome standards prohibit compensating the game for previous results. A dry run, near miss or streamer highlight is not evidence that the next spin owes you a win.
